Recently, I’ve been getting more requests to post about using essential oils during pregnancy and for labor, so over the next few weeks, I will be doing a series of posts to cover this topic. Pregnancy is such a special and magical time in a woman’s life. The anticipation of having a baby and growing a family, the blossoming of breasts and belly, the feeling of new life stirring within.
One of the greatest powers of essential oils is their ability to affect our emotions. Most of us have experienced the uplifting aroma of citrus or coffee in the morning, the soothing scent of lavender or chamomile tea, the homey comforting aroma of ginger, cloves, and cinnamon baking in an apple pie in the fall, or the romance of floral scents like rose or jasmine. Scents evoke strong emotions and are closely linked with our deepest memories, and we can use this to our advantage throughout our days.
